AMAZING  Massive 8”  Quality ALLOSAURUS HAND  KILLING CLAW -The Top  Dinosaur Fossil Prize

 

Species : Allosaurus fragilis

Species description : Largest Therapod Meat Eating Jurassic dinosaur ever-often reaching 35 feet long, as long as a bus. Its Large Skull per body size makes it special but a Hand Claw is even more inspiring. The skull with a moveable joint allowed it to bite huge chunks to devour its prey .

It did hunt in groups and was the greatest hunter in dinosaur world  at least at trhis time frame that had speed, teamwork, and claws that were much better than TREX . It had a S-shaped bulldog neck with powerful 3 claws -sometimes a vestigual one also that could tear any dinosaur wide open . The teeth could rejuvenate but these claws could not. It weighed 2 tons also.

Item Location: Como Bluff or Bone Cabin Quarry, Wyoming ?   This was an old collection piece of a top collector who passed, but we know these 2 areas are only ones known with dark brown color -all others dark black

Item Description: 1-10 rating  10   This is an almost unbelievable find  as an X Large 8” Quality Allosaurus Hand Killing Claw with 8” Circumference at base. I really can’t tell you how valuable this is as it’s the largest claw in meat eating dinosaur world by far.  IM talking about the average claw but this is much larger than average. I’ve only had one of these in my 35 years that was close to this size.  They are the most prized possession of the dinosaur world so you don’t see them at all.  The smaller ones go for 18-25,000 but this is larger. I only seen a few thru years at the Tucson show and these sell so fast . Quality on this claw is exceptional 

I did not prep this or have it prepped but I can’t see much that has resto. The claw tip was  repaired as  broken ,but it’s hard to see, and doesn’t affect value  . The only restore I can see is in middle of claw and at very end with only wear on 2 small bulb end.  You can see the great  lines of the bone and grooves all natural easily.  If you ever see any the tips are restored but not this one.
