AMAZING RARE ADULT BACK RIGHT STEGOSAURUS LEG INCLUDING 33”Long SUPER FEMUR & 20” Tibia &Fibula from JURASSIC Age(140MYA)
Species description: Stegosaurus is an armored dinosaur and means “narrow faced roof lizard “ about 23 ft long noted for large dorsal plates used for temp regulation and mating , and tail spikes in back for defense . IT was a herbivore , and little known it is the longest living dinosaur over Jurassic and Cretaceous . It was found in late Cretaceous Indian soil. It is a weird looking dinosaur compared to others .It is considered the longest living dinosaur ever due to India having this creature up to 65 MYA so it is at least 100 Million Years Old since it first appeared. Geological strata: Morrison Formation (Upper Kimmeridgian Stages) Geological period: Late Jurassic 172- 140MYA Item location: Grand County, UTAH Description and rating: Unheard of Outstanding HIghly Original More than Rare Jurassic Adult Stegosaurus Complete Leg including Femur 32 “ Long x 9” wide plus, a Tibia and Fibula 20” Long . Bone Quality is top of the line on all of these . The color is typical of Utah and was found on a private ranch owned by a friend dealer .This is one of few found in the world , and only complete leg of its type I ever saw. . Remember this is Stegosaurus, and few people can get anything of this dinosaur and its 150 million years old. Only a little few inch section of Fibula was restored and the rest is original with crack fills The femur was broken only in the middle and sealed and glued with Jurassic gel . It’s shape is outstanding as well with great detail on the ends with a dark, light, red color plus a little green as is characteristic. It is color is red, gray, brown and white intermixed which makes it so attractive. It comes on a nice strong metal display mounted as it would be with femur on top and lower leg bones underneath. This is an animal not real high but this was a huge stegosaurus as the femurs are much bigger than the tibia and fibula , even though they are large also IN fact with display this stands 60 “ off the ground . I have a complete lower leg plus foot for a juvenile and the tibia and fibula which are smaller for that animal, which is a juvenile as I said . It is heavy and thick at some areas and it is a real beauty . I do not sell stegosaurus material because it is not found for private collections hardly ever and is much more valuable than REX, Allosaurus, or any other dinosaur so I’ll gladly keep this unless you truly are ready to shell out big bucks . I have looked for stegosaurus items for years and have actually only found and collected a large amount of pieces at my site. I have a tail spike, and a rare dorsal plate from its grandfather miosi, and consider this just as valuable..The quality is so good with virtually no or minimal restore as crack fills . Top collectors only to apply and I don’t offer discounts if I decide to sell to don’t ask .It is as unbelievable find. I appreciate this fossil so much . MAKE ME AN OFFER Call 706-235-2694 |
